Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has announced that the Goa Government will increase the assistance provided under Griha Aadhar and the Dayanand Social Security Scheme (DSSS) before the upcoming elections.
Speaking about the government’s commitments, Sawant said his government delivers on the promises it makes.
“We give our word, and we fulfil it. We don’t lie,” Sawant said.
The Chief Minister said the government would increase the Griha Aadhar and DSSS amounts before the elections. He added that the increase would be announced on the day Prime Minister Narendra Modi visits Goa.
Sawant Signals Major Welfare Boost
Sawant said the government would continue strengthening welfare support for beneficiaries across Goa. The proposed increase in Griha Aadhar and DSSS assistance is expected to provide additional financial support to eligible beneficiaries.
Griha Aadhar supports eligible women through monthly financial assistance, while DSSS provides social-security support to senior citizens, widows and other vulnerable beneficiaries.

CM Targets Opposition Over Promises
Sawant also took a direct swipe at the opposition while referring to its upcoming election manifesto.
“Within a few days, the manifesto of those who lie will come,” he said.
He contrasted the opposition’s expected manifesto with his government’s approach of fulfilling commitments made to the people.
Announcement Ahead of PM Modi’s Goa Visit
The Chief Minister linked the welfare announcement to Prime Minister Modi’s upcoming Goa visit. Sawant said the revised assistance under Griha Aadhar and DSSS would be announced on the occasion.
The announcement puts women’s welfare and social security at the centre of the government’s pre-election agenda, with beneficiaries set to receive higher assistance once the revised amounts take effect.
Sawant’s statement also reinforces his message that the Goa Government will continue to deliver on welfare commitments while expanding support for beneficiaries across the state.
