The Goa Government is taking digital governance and tourism assistance closer to citizens and visitors with new AI-powered WhatsApp chatbots.
Under the Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communications (DITE&C), in collaboration with Goa Electronics Limited (GEL), the government has launched a WhatsApp chatbot for Goa Online services. The Tourism Department has also introduced a dedicated chatbot to provide travellers with verified information and assistance.
Government Services Through WhatsApp
The Goa Government has expanded its Goa Online digital services by bringing them directly to WhatsApp.
Citizens can save 9404858105 and send “Hi” to access the chatbot. The guided, menu-based system allows users to access services without downloading a separate application.
Through the chatbot, citizens can submit applications, track application status, download certificates and access payment receipts.
The initiative builds on the existing Goa Online portal, which has recorded more than 21 lakh service requests and over 9 lakh registered users.
The WhatsApp service operates round the clock, giving citizens another convenient channel to access government services.

Tourism Services Go Digital
The Tourism Department has also introduced an AI-powered chatbot to improve assistance for travellers visiting Goa.
The chatbot provides information on GTDC hotels, registered private accommodation and transit guidance. Travellers can also raise enquiries and track their requests through the platform.
The chatbot currently supports English and Hindi, while the department plans to introduce Marathi and Konkani support.
The initiative focuses on making tourism information easier to access for today’s phone-first travellers.
Goa Expands AI-Driven Governance
The chatbot initiatives reflect the Goa Government’s growing use of technology to improve public service delivery and tourism assistance.
With the Goa Artificial Intelligence Policy expected soon, the state is preparing to expand the use of AI across different areas of governance and public services.
By bringing essential government services and tourism assistance onto WhatsApp, the Goa Government is creating simpler digital access for citizens and visitors while strengthening its technology-driven governance ecosystem.
