The Independent Voice of Goa
Goa Speaks exists to hold power to account, tell the stories that matter, and amplify the voices of every Goan.
Goa is changing fast – economically, environmentally, and politically – and much of that change happens without enough scrutiny. We report on the decisions, institutions, and people shaping the state, and we do it independently: no political ownership, no editorial favours, no coverage for sale.
What we cover:
Live News – rolling, real-time coverage of the news breaking across Goa, as it happens.
Special Stories – our editors’ picks: the features and investigations we think matter most, right now.
Goa Report Card – a data-driven, ongoing scorecard tracking government promises against performance.
Media – Goa in pictures and video, a running visual dispatch from across the state.
Goa People – the human side of Goa, told across three lenses: community, culture, and everyday life.
On The Record – in-depth reporting and interviews that go beyond the press release.
Business & Tourism – the economics of Goa: industry, trade, and the tourism sector that drives it, including the trade-offs behind growth.
Environment & Coastal – Goa’s coastline, ecology, and natural resources, and the pressures – development, mining, climate – bearing down on them.
What we believe:
We believe Goans deserve journalism that answers to its readers, not to advertisers or political patrons. We believe accountability journalism is a public service, not a business-as-usual news cycle. And we believe every Goan – from Panjim to the panchayats – has a story and a stake worth reporting on fairly.
Goa Speaks is funded to stay independent, edited to stay honest, and built to last.
