Mahila Resource Centre and Weaves of Goan Natives inaugurated in Dabolim to promote women’s empowerment, livelihood opportunities and Goa’s traditional weaving heritage
The Goa Government has taken another step towards strengthening women’s economic opportunities and preserving Goa’s cultural heritage with the inauguration of the Mahila Resource Centre and Weaves of Goan Natives in Dabolim.
Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant inaugurated both initiatives, launched by Minister Mauvin Godinho, with a focus on creating opportunities for women while giving greater recognition to Goa’s traditional skills and craftsmanship.
The Mahila Resource Centre will serve as a support platform for women by providing access to skills, resources and opportunities that can help them strengthen their livelihoods and move towards greater economic independence.
At the same time, Weaves of Goan Natives seeks to revive and promote Goa’s traditional weaving heritage by connecting local craftsmanship with contemporary livelihood opportunities.
