From beaches to business, Goa is expanding its identity as a destination for investment, entrepreneurship and innovation. At the valedictory ceremony of the third Vibrant Goa Global Business Summit 2026, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant highlighted how the state is building a stronger business ecosystem while retaining its strengths in tourism, sports and quality of life.
Addressing Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth, Union Minister of State for Power and New and Renewable Energy Shripad Yesso Naik, Industries Minister Mauvin Godinho, MLA Dr Deviya Rane, 1983 Cricket World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev and other dignitaries, the Chief Minister congratulated Vibrant Goa Foundation Chairman Rajkumar Kamat and his team for successfully organising the summit.
Recalling the initiative’s beginning in 2018 with the blessings of former Chief Minister Late Manohar Parrikar, CM Sawant said the summit had grown into a global platform connecting Goan entrepreneurs with national and international business leaders.
He highlighted Goa’s strengths as a highly literate state with a robust tourism and sports ecosystem, stating that the state could offer both an attractive quality of life and promising business opportunities.
Nine MoUs Bring ₹8,600 Crore Investment Potential
Highlighting the summit’s investment outcomes, CM Sawant announced that the Goa Investment Promotion Board (IPB) had signed nine MoUs with an investment potential of ₹8,600 crore and the potential to generate over 5,000 employment opportunities.
The proposals cover several sectors, including artificial intelligence, data centres, hospitality, education, healthcare, sports infrastructure, energy and logistics.
The Chief Minister added that additional proposals remained in the pipeline and could take the overall investment potential generated through the summit beyond ₹10,000 crore.
He also highlighted that the IPB had already approved more than 250 projects, reflecting the state’s growing investment momentum.
Inviting investors to explore opportunities beyond established commercial centres such as Panaji and Calangute, CM Sawant encouraged them to consider Goa’s hinterland. He assured investors that the government would facilitate projects through responsible governance, industry-friendly policies and predictable processes.
RAMP Scheme Connects Goan MSMEs with Global Buyers
Reiterating his government’s commitment to Swayampurna Goa, the Chief Minister said the state’s self-reliance mission cannot succeed without strong Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
He highlighted the Reverse Buyer Seller Meet (RBSM), organised under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme in collaboration with the Directorate of Industries, Trade and Commerce.
Supported by the World Bank and the Union Ministry of MSME, the initiative brings major buyers directly to Goan manufacturers and entrepreneurs, helping local businesses explore new markets and establish commercial partnerships.
CM Sawant highlighted the growth in exporter participation, from 35 exporters in the first edition to 40 in the second. He expressed confidence that the 2026 edition would cross 100 first-time exporters from Goa.
He emphasised that the government wants to move beyond announcing schemes and provide MSMEs with actual market access and business opportunities.
500 MSME Export Champions by 2037
The Chief Minister assured that the government would implement the Mukhyamantri Export Initiation Scheme, announced in the state budget.
Following Rajkumar Kamat’s request to fast-track the scheme, CM Sawant said the Directorate of Industries, Trade and Commerce would work with Vibrant Goa Foundation to guide MSMEs through their export journey.
The initiative will support entrepreneurs from their first business inquiry and initial export consignment to building sustainable international trade operations.
