Goa marked a significant employment milestone as 53 newly recruited youth received appointment letters at the 20th Rozgar Mela held in Panaji on September 19. Union Minister of State for Power and New & Renewable Energy Shripad Naik distributed the appointment letters and congratulated the young recruits as they began their careers in various Central Government organisations.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nationwide Rozgar Mela through video conferencing and distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly appointed youth across various government organisations.
In Goa, the Commissionerate of CGST & Customs organised the Rozgar Mela in Panaji. The programme brought together newly appointed employees, their families, senior officials and dignitaries to mark the beginning of a new professional journey.

The 53 recruits will take up roles across several important Central Government institutions and offices in Goa. Their new workplaces include Bank of Maharashtra, Indian Overseas Bank, Airports Authority of India, Department of Posts, Railways, CBDT, Customs and IIT Goa.
Shripad Naik congratulated the newly appointed youth and highlighted the responsibility that comes with government service. He urged the recruits to view their appointments not only as employment opportunities but also as a chance to serve citizens and contribute to nation-building.
The Union Minister also encouraged the young employees to continuously strengthen their skills and adapt to emerging technologies. He highlighted the growing importance of digital technology, artificial intelligence, infrastructure, banking, railways, aviation, education and renewable energy.
Naik also acknowledged the role played by parents, families, teachers and mentors in helping the young recruits reach this important milestone.
The Rozgar Mela gave the newly appointed employees and their families an opportunity to celebrate their achievement together. The programme also reinforced the role of young people in strengthening public services and contributing to the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.
The newly appointed employees shared their experiences and spoke about the development initiatives of the Government of India. For many of them, receiving the appointment letter through the Rozgar Mela marked the start of a new phase filled with professional responsibility and opportunities to serve.

The 20th Rozgar Mela reflects the Government of India’s continued focus on expanding employment opportunities for young people and bringing more youth into public service.
With the latest Rozgar Mela, around 12.75 lakh youth have received appointment letters across various government departments and organisations through the initiative.
For Goa, the appointment of 53 youth adds another positive milestone to the employment journey of young people, opening opportunities across banking, aviation, railways, postal services, taxation, customs and higher education institutions.
