The Goa Department of Art and Culture has launched ‘Aamchi Chavath 2026’, a state-wide online competition celebrating Goa’s unique Ganesh Chaturthi traditions, creativity and festive spirit. The initiative aims to take Goa’s vibrant Chavath celebrations to audiences across India and the world through social media and digital platforms.
The competition brings together five categories: Matoli Decoration, Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Dekhava, Family Tradition Video/Reel, Ganpati Song Singing and Ganpati Stotra Recitation.
Five Categories to Showcase Goa’s Festive Culture
Through Aamchi Chavath 2026, the Department of Art and Culture is giving Goans a platform to showcase the traditions and creativity that make Goa’s Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations distinctive.
Participants can enter the competition under five categories:
- Matoli Decoration
- Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Dekhava
- Family Tradition Video/Reel
- Ganpati Song Singing
- Ganpati Stotra Recitation
The initiative aims to encourage families, communities, and individuals to digitally share the cultural richness of Goan Chavath.

Registration Opens September 11
Online registration for Aamchi Chavath 2026 will begin on September 11. Participants can register and submit their entries using the official QR code issued for the competition.
The Department has set different deadlines depending on the category. Participants in Matoli Decoration and Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Dekhava must submit their entries by September 15.
A jury appointed by the Department of Art and Culture will assess entries in these two categories.
Online Judging for Three Categories
Entries for Family Tradition Video/Reel, Ganpati Song Singing and Ganpati Stotra Recitation will remain open until September 20.
The Department will publish eligible entries on its official social media pages. The public response will determine the winners in these categories based on the views, likes and shares received by the entries.
However, the department has made it clear that participants must follow fair practices. Any attempt to artificially or fraudulently increase views, likes, or shares will lead to disqualification.

Goa’s Chavath Goes Digital
The Aamchi Chavath 2026 initiative combines Goa’s traditional Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations with digital participation.
