The Goa Government has announced annual increments for Anganwadi teachers, marking a significant step towards improving their financial security and recognising their contribution to early childhood care and development. Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant announced the decision, stating that the revised salary structure could take the earnings of Anganwadi teachers to ₹40,000 and above.
The announcement highlights the government’s focus on strengthening the workforce that supports children and families at the grassroots level. Anganwadi teachers play an important role in early childhood education, nutrition awareness and the delivery of essential services to women and children across Goa.
Annual increments will provide Anganwadi teachers with a structured opportunity for salary growth. The proposed increase could also offer greater financial stability to workers who support the government’s welfare and community development programmes.
