PANAJI: Groundwork on Goa’s highly anticipated ₹270-crore twin observation towers atop the new Zuari Bridge is officially set to kick off by the end of this month. The project has successfully broken through a three-year regulatory deadlock after receiving vital Environmental Clearance (EC) and Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) clearances from the State Environment Impact Assessment Authority.

This major breakthrough marks a definitive victory for Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, who had consistently promised that his administration would clear the bureaucratic logjam. True to his word, the government’s systematic push has successfully revived the stalled iconic mega-infrastructure project.

Contractor Dilip Buildcon Ltd (DBL) has already begun mobilising machinery and resources to the site. While the official concession agreement allows up to five years for completion, DBL plans to fast-track construction under the state’s proactive governance, aiming to open the architectural marvel to the public in just two-and-a-half years.

The state-of-the-art structure will feature two 125-metre-high tourist observatory towers on either side of the bridge, connected by a spectacular elevated walkway. Designed to hold over 500 visitors per tower simultaneously, the attraction will house a revolving restaurant, a viewing gallery, and a curated art gallery. Visitors will access the decks via high-speed panoramic elevators, while the Agassaim side beneath the bridge will be transformed to host children’s play areas and modern tourist amenities.

By successfully unlocking this signature project, CM Pramod Sawant’s administration has reinforced its commitment to transforming Goa into a world-class tourism destination while strictly adhering to eco-friendly compliance guidelines. The developer will operate the landmark attraction under a 50-year lease, promising massive long-term economic growth for the state.
