A positive step towards strengthening early childhood education in Goa, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has assured pre-primary teachers that their long-standing demand for salary revision and other service benefits will be addressed by October.
The assurance was given during a meeting with representatives of pre-primary teachers at Ravindra Bhavan, Sankhalim. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the concerns and expectations of teachers who play an important role in building the foundation of children’s education.

Support for 3,000 Pre-Primary Teachers
Around 3,000 pre-primary teachers are currently working across nearly 800 schools in Goa. Many have dedicated close to 20 years of service to early childhood education in the state.
The proposed salary revision and service benefits are expected to provide greater recognition and support to these educators, while strengthening their role in Goa’s school education system.
Government Focus on Teachers’ Welfare
The Chief Minister’s assurance reflects the government’s focus on addressing the concerns of teachers and improving their service conditions. With a commitment to take up the matter by October, the move is expected to bring greater encouragement and financial security to pre-primary teachers across Goa.
